Just wanted to say thank you to our small band of helpers for a fantastic day yesterday at our 10 May Fair – lots of visitors, lovely stalls, brilliant café and we raised £450 for the society to continue our operation.

We had 19 pictures in our WW2 VE Day Anniversary Competition and what a great variety of pictures and fantastic quality of work was on display. We had over 160 votes on the day for best picture and I received a lot of feedback about the exhibition, saying how fantastic it was and that they had found the pictures both moving and uplifting.

The winner was Carol Beasley with her picture in Flander’s Field, with 2nd place going to Sylvia Turner with her Coventry Blitz Picture Have You Seen This Lady, 3rd place was Julie Worthington with Reggie’s Regiment.

Congratulations to all our winners, every painting received votes and everyone’s a winner for entering, we will be thinking on a theme for next year.

Thank you again for your support in visiting the Fair, taking on responsibility of a stall, providing a cake for the café or helping in the kitchen or with raffle ticket sales, voting and just generally supporting our visitors. It is all most appreciated and we felt helped make a lovely community day.

Best Wishes
