Paul Young Demonstration 14th March 2016

Paul Young gave a brilliant and informative demonstration of his skills as a potter and artist by making bowls, jugs, candlesticks and egg cups miraculously appear on his potter’s wheel. He then went on to demonstrate one of his many decorating techniques on a bowl with seemingly just a few flicks of colour applied quickly on the spinning bowl. He finished by showing how he would go on to decorate a candlestick with birds, branches and leaves. One was left feeling that it is a tactile, hypnotic and rather therapeutic occupation. Of course, he made it look easy but, if I was let loose the result might be rather different and certainly not desirable!
