July 9th Peter Millward Chinese Painting.

On the 9th July Peter Millward, provided something different for the demonstration evening in the form of Chinese Painting. He opened the evening giving a brief history of the different styles and vast array of parchment used over the years. He took up the interest whilst in boarding school aged 14. His room mate was a Chinese boy who knew the art form well, so over the remaining years at school he became fairly proficient himself, and was also to teach the English language to his room mate. On leaving school Peter attended art college.
During the evening he produced at least 10 different pictures, varying the technique each time but always ending up signing his name in Chinese to signify that it was his work, which is a requirement of the art form.
